Q: I love the look of bamboo floors, but I’d rather have a hardwood floor. Is there a solution?
A. The Woodland FineLine™ Collection is a perfect choice for anyone who seeks the look of bamboo-like flooring but wants a floor made of hardwood. The sleek, vertical patterns of the wood grain mimic the same attractive linear lines of the bamboo branch.
Q. What gives the Woodland FineLine™ hardwood flooring collection that distinct linear look?
A. The signature linear patterns of Woodland FineLine™ come actually come from the process by which the floorboards are manufactured. The floorboards utilize the fall-off material from production of other hardwood flooring product lines. Joining what was previously unusable material, Woodland FineLine™ takes hundreds of strips of 1/8” wood from all different kinds of wood species, and crafts them together in a random pattern. The result is a distinct and attractive linear pattern—the Woodland FineLine™ Collection.
Q. Is the Woodland FineLine™ environmentally friendly?
A. Yes. The production of the Woodland FineLine™ Collection, by recycling and utilizing fall-off material from the production of other hardwood flooring products, speaks volumes of its sustainability. Most Woodland FineLine™ Collection products are also available with FSC Certification.
Q. What colors does the Woodland FineLine™ collection come in?
A. Woodland FineLine™ Collection comes in the following wood species: Cherry Loc, White Oak Loc, Black Ash, Doussie Loc, Dark, Sky Loc, Light, Maple Loc, Kempas, Coffee Loc, Walnut Lo, Black Oak Loc, Beech Loc and Merbau Loc. The Beech, Black Oak, Coffee, Doussie, Merbau, Sky and White Oak utilize only a single wood species and have a more uniform color throughout their floorboards, whereas the rest utilize different species to create a multitude of patterns. The choice is up to you—each species has its own unique and beautiful look.

The beauty of the Iroko species.
Oak, cedar, birch—is there really a difference? As if shopping around for hardwood floor isn’t already complicated enough, there’s another factor to deal with on top of pricing, color and board length: wood species. You probably have heard Premier Flooring Solutions throw around this cryptic term throughout our website and blog, but what is it? And why is it so important to hardwood flooring?
Wood, like all organic and living creatures, has characteristics that react differently to environmental factors. Wood from different tree species will each have different coloring, varying reactions to the weather, unique grain structure, etc. There are hundreds of varieties of tree species available, and having an understanding of each species helps both contractors and customers make educated decisions on flooring choices.
To kick off this wood species series, today we will be covering three tree species featured in our Nature’s Beauty product line. (more…)

The floorboard length maximizes the beauty of the Nature's Beauty Pecan wood species.
Wood species, floor width, grain detail, and price—these are all important factors when determining the best hardwood flooring choice for your home. But, another important—yet often overlooked—characteristic is the length of a floorboard.
Many people underestimate how differing board lengths can affect the overall look of their hardwood floor (and ultimately their homes), but consider this: When you have a magnificent piece of artwork, do you hang it up in your closet, where no one can behold its beauty? Of course not! (more…)
