New Line Coming Soon: Chêne de l’Est French Flooring

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Beautiful, wide-plank flooring soon to be available from Premier Flooring Solutions

Premier Flooring Solutions is proud to introduce our newest and exclusive product line, Chene de l’Est. Chene de l’Est, a French flooring company, was established in 1960 in eastern France by Joseph Bach, an artisan carpenter of his time.  The company grew from a tiny workshop and evolved into a family business.  Today, Bach’s four children run Chene de l’Est, which now specializes in the production of beautiful solid hardwood flooring with master finishes.

Premier Flooring Solutions has been looking into adding a French Oak to the product line for quite some time, and were fortunate to have an investment bank in New York put us in touch with Chene de l’Est, who was, as fate would have it, looking into expanding its product into the United States market.  After several meetings with the Chene de l’Est owners and an April trip to tour the main factory in France, Premier Flooring Solutions has now secured exclusive distribution rights for Chene de l’Est products in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada.

Premier Flooring Solutions is very excited to be carrying this exclusive brand of high-quality, finely crafted French hardwood flooring.  Keep following our blog for more updates in the very near future about this exciting addition to Premier Flooring Solutions’ product line.

Woodland FineLine™ Collection: The Perfect Alternative to Bamboo Flooring

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Q: I love the look of bamboo floors, but I’d rather have a hardwood floor. Is there a solution?

A. The Woodland FineLine™ Collection is a perfect choice for anyone who seeks the look of bamboo-like flooring but wants a floor made of hardwood.  The sleek, vertical patterns of the wood grain mimic the same attractive linear lines of the bamboo branch.

Q.  What gives the Woodland FineLine™ hardwood flooring collection that distinct linear look?

A. The signature linear patterns of Woodland FineLine™ come actually come from the process by which the floorboards are manufactured. The floorboards utilize the fall-off material from production of other hardwood flooring product lines.  Joining what was previously unusable material, Woodland FineLine™ takes hundreds of strips of 1/8” wood from all different kinds of wood species, and crafts them together in a random pattern.  The result is a distinct and attractive linear pattern—the Woodland FineLine™ Collection.

Q. Is the Woodland FineLine™ environmentally friendly?

A. Yes.  The production of the Woodland FineLine™ Collection, by recycling and utilizing fall-off material from the production of other hardwood flooring products, speaks volumes of its sustainability. Most Woodland FineLine™ Collection products are also available with FSC Certification.

Q. What colors does the Woodland FineLine™ collection come in?

A. Woodland FineLine™ Collection comes in the following wood species: Cherry Loc, White Oak Loc, Black Ash, Doussie Loc, Dark, Sky Loc, Light, Maple Loc, Kempas, Coffee Loc, Walnut Lo, Black Oak Loc, Beech Loc and Merbau Loc.  The Beech, Black Oak, Coffee, Doussie, Merbau, Sky and White Oak utilize only a single wood species and have a more uniform color throughout their floorboards, whereas the rest utilize different species to create a multitude of patterns.  The choice is up to you—each species has its own unique and beautiful look.

Premier Flooring Solutions goes through great lengths to ensure that we provide our customers with the adequate knowledge about different flooring types, so that they may make informed and educated decisions for their investment.  After the buying process has been completed, it is now up to our customers to take good care of their flooring to ensure that their investment will last them for years to come.  Proper hardwood care is essential and vital in maintaining the longevity, quality and beauty of hardwood floor.  Below are a few important pointers in proper hardwood flooring care.

Be Aware of Liquids: Wood is a living substance that reacts accordingly to its environment; a presence of moisture will cause wood to expand, while drier climates will cause wood to contract.  Be especially careful of spilling liquids on your floors!  Hardwood flooring will absorb liquid, which can cause your floors to rot or buckle over time.  Some hardwood floors have water-resistant finishes, but liquids can still seep through the cracks.  Remember to soak up any spilled liquids immediately.
